The collection was started by Vic & Shirley Gibbs in
1995 and is located on their farm at Wunkar, which is 25km west
of Loxton on the Myrla Road, via Wunkar, South Australia, a 15

This Gibbs Family Tractor Collection is dedicated to the agricultural pioneers of Australia, who used these tractors to develop the Agricultural Industry in this country. The Gibbs Family along with many other tractor enthusiasts are devoted to preserving our farming heritage.
We have more than seventy tractors in the Collection along with
other machinery and implements in various stages of
restoration. The Collection is very much a "work in progress" project.
Chamberlain tractors were the original focus of the
collection as Vic and his father Arthur Gibbs were the district
agents for Chamberlain in the 1950 - 1960's. Gibbs' have lived
and breathed Chamberlains for the last 50 years.
Our motto "If it aint painted orange, it can't been any
good". We all longed for the day when Chamberlain would
throw their hat into the "Harvest" ring, if they would have made
a cereal harvester we would have them too.
Sadly our dream never came to pass and we continued to use our "Shearer Harvesters", and a damn good machine too, made by John Shearer at Mannum, South Australia.
Other members of the family are also involved with the
collection.
Vic's brothers Colin and Lewis assist with the restoration work.
Colin applies his mechanical and spray painting expertise, while
Lewis owner of Gibbs Auto Electrical in Loxton tackles the
electrical work.
Sons David and Lynton are also ready to lend a hand. Lynton
works for Hentschke Transport of Loxton and transports the
tractors to various shows and rallys.
Cousin John keeps the Web site up and running. This is John's
first attempt as author of a Web site, no web editor programs
used here, all source code written in xhtml 1.0 using 'Windows
Notepad'.
