Well done guys, probably the best wesite in Australia regarding old tractors, being Chamberlain is a bonus. I have a Super90 markIII, and I still have to retrieve another 2 Super70 that I have purchased. Great machines.
Cheers Garth Garth Sunshine Coast, Qld Australia - Sunday, November 27, 2005 at 08:45:52 (CST) What a fantastic website to stumble across on the web! My father collects M-H tractors although he does have a few others including a 1937 P model Lanz which is my pride and joy. I would dearly love a Super 90 one day but they are getting harder and harder to find and dearer and dearer to buy! Regards, Brett Brett Morrison Bannockburn, Vic Australia - Tuesday, November 22, 2005 at 19:30:01 (CST) Does Chamberlains still survive? My grandfather Michael McCabe worked there for 30+ years, I'd love to know whether there is any history on him. Can you help me? my email: tfmccabeperth@hotmail.com Thankyou, regards Tim McCabe Perth, WA Australia - Friday, November 11, 2005 at 22:43:45 (CST) great photos and i enjoyed reading your family history. annette gibbs live oak, fl usa - Monday, November 07, 2005 at 10:53:16 (CST) Very interesting, I like the old sales adverts. The 306 was probably the most common model in New Zealand. Alister Anderson Te Anau, Southland New=Zealand - Sunday, August 14, 2005 at 22:23:03 (CST) Hi, I remember in the early seventys a tractor named as a Chamberlain 306 which had about 70 hp. This tractor would travel at 25 mph to the cultivation then stop to change gears to go at 4 mph pulling a 9ft linkage John SHEARER chiesel plough as deep as it would go. Dave Shepherd Aratula, QLD Australia - Sunday, July 24, 2005 at 18:40:45 (CST) Great website, but Field Marshall series 2 tractors only have 40 horsepower. thanks. Dave Shepherd QLD Australia - Saturday, July 23, 2005 at 18:39:33 (CST) Being a "baby boomer" from Western Australia, I grew up with the knowledge of Chamberlain tractors being built in W.A. Many the time we would drive past the plant on Welshpool Road. Sadly, it is all gone now. It is great to see the restoration work you are doing. You are responsible for maintaining genuine Australian heritage. Good on you and you are definitely NOT "tossers"!! The dear lad from the UK sounded a bit envious. Don't let them worry you. Keep up the good work. Hope to get over and see you one day. Met Colin at a wedding in Berri on Queen's birthday weekend and will definitely be in touch some time. regards, Morrie. Morrie Krieg Chirnside Park, Vic. I have a countryman, a little different to the ones in your piccys though. Squarer guards, 6/354 motor. I put a blade on the front. It hasn't been running for 5 years. No reason, I just haven't had the need. I'm changing all the oils now and replacing all the hoses etc, before starting it up this weekend. Look forward using her again. Darryl Wright Childers, Qld Australia - Friday, July 08, 2005 at 05:09:43 (CST) Great web site! Just looking for info on my Champion tractor when I came across your site. Also have a 4280 A Series and a very tired C670 F.E.L. working on our property. Had a 55KA with a 6354 Perkins conversion once but sold it regrettably for spares. All great tractors! John Eckermann Two Wells, S.A. Australia - Monday, June 13, 2005 at 23:31:32 (CST) Further to my previous entry in the Guest book, I forgot to mention that the 55DA had a Meadows engine fitted, the same engine was being used in the Countryman, we were told at the time that it was the only tractor converted by Chamberlain in Springvale (Melb)with a Meadows, all others they had done used the Perkins 270 as in the 9G. The whole tractor was rebuilt, the hourmeter was replaced with a new one, and a new Tractor Warranty given. Ray Bufton Highton, Vic Australia - Wednesday, June 01, 2005 at 10:37:08 (CST) Enjoyed seeing your collection, I started driving my fathers,s 40KA when I was 8 years old on the family farm at Balliang, Vic (just Nth of Geelong), it was the first Chamberlain in the district, fitted with Duals in wet years, purchased in approx 1953 from Chamberlain in Melb, as there was no local Dealer. Replaced with a 55DA in about 1957,which was repowered by Chamberlain in 1961, after 55 motor blew up. We also had a Champion 9G from 1959 to 1968, it was traded in on a Champion 306, which was sold in 1988. I also had a late Super 90, Serial s90 1943, for about 7 years, all good tractors, a great era!! I have a small collection of Wisconsin Motors, 7 to 28 HP, maybe one day I'll have a Chamberlain. Regards Ray. Ray Bufton Highton, vic Australia - Wednesday, June 01, 2005 at 10:26:11 (CST) Spotted a W4 McCormick today whilst repairing a woolpress. Still in perfect working order and still being used to shuffle machinery around the farm. I have a AWD7 that needs restoring. Keep up the good work. David lawrence secret harbour, WA Australia - Friday, May 13, 2005 at 23:59:08 (CST) Very impressed, My wife and I are sitting here looking at all your tractors, we currently have two but they are not orange. Mike Arvada, Colorado USA - Thursday, March 24, 2005 at 09:03:28 (CST) Excellent work! Your dedication and enthusiasm for an Australian icon is a credit to you. The first tractor I ever drove was my fathers 40K, and if I can track it down, it'll be my next project as soon as the AW9's finished. Once again, well done, I look forward to more!!! Jim Clayton Popanyinning, WA Australia - Saturday, February 19, 2005 at 04:48:52 (CST) A great site, currently restoring a McCormick International W4 tractor, any information would be appreciated, keep up the good work. joshuad@cacbindoon.wa.edu.au Josh Dalwood W.A Australia - Friday, February 11, 2005 at 22:31:39 (CST) I currently have 3 old Chamberlain Tractors in our collection ,A G9 IND2 SPEED, A G9 3 SPEED & A CRUSADER .All in working order , Just love your page & your family Chamberlain collection. please keep up the good work , love the comments Brian ,. Brian Manning. Tingoora, QLD Australia - Wednesday, January 26, 2005 at 11:45:02 (CST) I love your website!!! I think it is brilliant you have collected a range of CHAMBERLAIN tractors. These uniquely Australian tractors need to be given the National Treasure that old Holden cars now receive. It is sad Australian no longer assembles, let alone designs tractors anymore. Your collection is world class! Regards from Michael Halsall Michael Halsall Edithvale, Victoria Australia - Monday, January 17, 2005 at 22:07:29 (CST) |
