This tractor was owned by Arthur Gibbs, fitted with a Gason Cabin and used for light farm work.

SPECIFICATIONS
ENGINE
  • Perkins Model 270, vertical in-line 4 cylinder 4 stroke direct injection diesel,bore 4.250", stroke 4.75".
  • Displacement 269.5 cu.in.; compression ration 16:1
  • Rated speed 1600 - 2000 rpm.
HORSEPOWER
  • 62.0 engine crankshaft at 2000 rpm, Max. belt 51.0
  • 45.0 Max. drawbar at 2000 rpm.
  • 189 lb/ft Max. crankshaft torque at 1000 rpm.
  • 6,600 lb Max. drawbar pull at 2.4 mph. on 18.4 x 28 tyres.
FUEL
  • Distillate. Fuel tank capacity 16.25 imp.gallons.
  • Filtration: strainer and water trap.
INJECTION
  • Mechanically governed distributor type pump.
  • Multi-holed injectors provide direct injection to Toroidal combustion chambers in piston crowns.
STARTING
  • Solenoid operated, self indexing starter motor.
  • Operated in conjunction with Thermo-Start cold starting aid by key switch.
GOVERNOR
  • Mechanical. Controlled by hand lever.
COOLING
  • Water circulated through engine and radiator by centrifugal pump mounted on engine.
  • Temperature controlled by thermostat.
ELECTRICAL
  • 12 Volt generator, regulator, starter motor and lighting system.
  • Twin filament head lamps, parking lights.
  • Two 6 volt 19 plate batteries.
CLUTCH
  • 14" diam., single plate Borg and Beck.
  • Fitted with ball bearing thrust race and operated by foot pedal.
  • Clutch brake is provided.
TRANSMISSION
  • A three speed and reverse sliding spur gearbox mounted on the rear of the engine.
  • Coupled by a universally jointed shaft to a high, intermediate and low range gearbox mounted on the front of the differential.
  • The two gearboxes are fitted with seperate change levers.
DIFFERENTIAL
  • Bevel gear type with spiral bevel crown wheel and pinion.
  • Pinion and differential shaft bearings are taper roller.
FINAL DRIVES
  • Two extensions carry the drive form the differential to the final drives.
  • Final drives are located compactly within the rear wheels.
BRAKES
  • The rear wheels are fitted with cam operated, internal expanding brakes.
  • Lining area 158 sq.ins.
  • Brakes may be controlled independently by the foot pedals.
  • Controlled as a foot brake by coupling the pedals.
  • Latched in the "on" position for parking.
STEERING
  • Recirculating ball type steering gear.
  • Connected to front wheels by adjustable draglink and track rods fitted with ball joints.
LIVE POWER TAKE-OFF
  • 6B Splined shaft is to the A.S.A.E. standard of 1.375"
  • Shaft speed is 540 rpm at 1600 Engine R.P.M.
  • Clockwise rotation (viewed from rear).
BELT PULLEY (Optinal Extra Equipment)
  • Pulley - 10.25" diameter x 7.25" wide.

  • Single acting for three point linkage.
  • Double acting with 1/2" B.S.P. quick release coupling for trailed implements.

  • Operated by external cylinder, 2x3/4" bore, 12" stroke.
  • Standard 1" pins and fork ends.
  • Operated by single acting Vickers Hydraulics.
